The Incredible Hulk: Through the Years
by manny
With the new “The Incredible Hulk” movie coming out next month, I thought it would be fun to take a look at our giant green friend throughout the years.

“The Incredible Hulk” TV Show (1978)
Before CGI animation existed, the Hulk was played by *gasp* a live person. Bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno painted his skin green and played a pretty good Hulk.
The show ran for several years and was cancelled in its fifth season in 1982. Six years later, three “made for TV” movies were produced with Lou Ferringo reprising his role as the Hulk.
“Hulk” Movie (2003)
In 2003, Ang Lee directed a big budget live-action film, entitled “Hulk.” This movie is generally considered a failure, although I must say that I enjoyed this film. Well, okay, except for the Poodle fight.

This film used CGI animation to portray the Hulk, making a more accurate representation of Hulk in the comics. Apparently, Hulk is actually way, way bigger than Lou Ferringo.
“The Incredible Hulk” Movie (2008)

So, a brand new Hulk movie is debuting next month. This Hulk looks very similar to the 2003 version. Is it a sequel? A remake? Actually, they’re calling it a “Reboot.”
According to the IMDB:
“The film started out as a sequel….However, after Norton signed on to star, Norton rewrote the script of the film, severing ties to its predecessor by retelling the origin story in flashbacks and revelations. Thus, The Incredible Hulk is a reboot, a restart of the Hulk movie series with no ties to Ang Lee’s Hulk. However, it does it pick up with him in the jungle running which is where the first one left off but slightly re-tells the history with subtle nods to the previous one.”
This movie looks promising. I’m a sucker for superhero movies, and I’m excited for more Hulk.
She-Hulk?

So when do we get a She-Hulk movie? Marvel almost made one in the late 1980’s with Brigitte Nielsen (Red Sonja). Publicity photos were taken, but Marvel canned the project when they couldn’t raise the proper financing. Oh well, maybe some day….
